CHOOSING A SERVER SOLUTION

Below are the basics of Shared Hosting, Virtual Private Servers, Dedicated Servers, and Co-Located Servers. Should you need additional information regarding a server solution please contact Mississippi.com.

Virtual Private Servers

A Virtual Private Server is a single server that is partitioned at the root into multiple dedicated servers. This allows you to share the cost of the network connectivity, hardware, and system maintenance with other hosting customers, while maintaining your flexibility and freedom.

The advantages of a Linux Virtual Private Server (Linux VPS) and a Windows Virtual Private Server  (Windows VPS) is that they allow for complete control of the system, they have security advantages of a dedicated server, and they are offered at a fraction of the cost. You have access to the virtual root, Telnet, web configuration files, and full CGI-BIN access.

Dedicated Server

With a Dedicated Server, the client is provided with the server, rack space, bandwidth, connection to the Internet, hardware maintenance, uninterruptible power supply and 24/7 server monitoring. A dedicated server is often preferred by clients since the hosting company provides the system, they also maintain the hardware and replace it in the event of a hardware failure.

We offer High-End Dedicated Servers and custom servers for client needs. When comparing dedicated server plans compare all of the features to ensure that you are comparing like products - a $99.00-a-month dedicated server is not the same as a $375.00-a-month High-End Dedicated Servers.

Co-Located Server

With a Co-Located Server the client places their server at our data center. Most clients shy away from this option so that they do not have to worry about hardware, security management, and basic server maintenance.
